  Bracing for Change

Bracing for Change

For those familiar with the Vail Valley, the historic town of Minturn has been relatively sleepy since the heyday of railroads and mining. That’s about to change. Another major ski and golf resort is planned for the Vail Valley. The Ginn Company is creating a world-class ski and golf resort community literally at the front door of Minturn. Sandwiched between Vail, Beaver Creek and the new Ginn resort, Minturn is an awakening giant gearing for dramatic changes as we learn in “The Changing Face of Minturn.” In a related feature, we take a fantastic run down the Minturn Mile that connects the slopes of Vail Mountain to Minturn. Experience the suspense and the beauty of this fantastic run veteran Vail Valley locals keep for themselves. We then take a stroll down memory lane to the rough and tumble — and very colorful — early days the Vail Ski Patrol in “Origin of my Species.” We’re also excited about Panache, our ongoing arts and entertainment insert. In it, we learn about Vail’s Art in Public Paces program, the exclusive Vail showing of Mish New York jewelry, and what’s happening at April’s always-popular Taste of Vail.
