"Yum" in Every Bite at Ticino Italian Restaurant

Ticino Italian Restaurant has really made the grade with its new ownership, not to be confused with the Ticino of yester-year.
Living in Avon...more than often, my favorite thing to do after a long day is to find a nice place I can relax with some good food and wine. In the summer, finding an establishment with a deck is even better after sitting at a desk in a dark office all day. Well, I just may have found that place!
Elegant and well put together, you get a very quaint family feel when entering Ticino, As you should, as you are welcome by the father/son duo that own the place. They have a nice little bar and large open front counter area that provides a very light and airy feel to it. Stepping out back to the deck- "Just what the doctor ordered!" Large, plenty of space and places to sit alongside a grassy knoll, and most importantly- LOTS OF SUNSHINE SHINING THROUGH.
The menu features affordable, down to earth, home style Italian Cuisine, Pizza, homemade Pasta and Gnocchi. They have a full bar and a varietal wine list. The service is top-notch, very friendly and attentive.
Starting off with a nice glass of wine, I chose the Castle Rock, Pinot Noir- as Pinots are my favorite. It tasted exactly how a Pinot should, light, not too dry, not too fruity. However, if I had company dining with me...I would have chosen the Duck Pond Pinot by the bottle. This my all time favorite and I am excited that they carry it!
I decided to have something nice and light to complement my entree. I ordered the Caesar Salad for starters. A perfect traditional Caesar. The Main Course, the centerpiece of the experience....is definitely something to experience. The Salmone ai Ferri is amazing!!!!!! Being a pescatarian for 25 years now, I know what I am talking about when it comes to fish and I am extremely picky. A nice thick salmon fillet grilled to perfection with lemon pesto. DELICIOUS. Served with polenta (mashy style) that is out of this world yummy (I could eat a whole plate), seasoned just right with some ingredients that make it taste fantastic. Need to get that recipe. A nice assortment of grilled veggies add to the mix just right, lots of zucchini, summersquash, etc...
And last but absolutely not least, my favorite part of the meal, DESSERT. Tiramisu is a choice? I can't not choose that. I am also a self-proclaimed Tiramisu expert. Made fresh, only hours before I got to lick the plate... just the right amount of marscapone, liquer, and ladyfingers to top off a good meal!
So, if you haven't been to the new Ticino, don't pass this one by. You need to try and experience it yourself. You will only be happy that you did!
