Concept 4012

Balz and Christina Arrigoni, owners of Minturn-based Arrigoni Woods, were not content on supplying just exceptional eco-friendly European flooring for Vail Valley homes. They have now branched out to provide the entire home…literally…with the opening of Concept 4012, which brings European alpine builders’ expertise to local homeowners.

Concept 4012’s homes have their major components assembled in environmentally designed factories in the alpine regions of Balz’s native Switzerland or Christina’s native Austria from timbers derived from such sources as recycled, centuries-old mountain barns and factories as well as newer wood from sustainable forests. Wood not already aged undergoes a burning process coupled with non-toxic finishes ensures exceptional, maintenance-free endurance for centuries to come.

The finished components are shipped to Vail and constructed on an already-built foundation in a fraction of the time it would take to build a home in the traditional manner and at a cost equivalent to building the same home locally from scratch.

The ultimate in “sustainability,” these homes can be custom designed to satisfy the most intricate design demands of virtually any architect and homeowner, and their exceptional environmental virtues result in less energy usage. The Dennis Basso Collection at Luca Bruno

The essence of haute couture begins with fine design and quality fur. You know it when you see it.

On Meadow Drive in Vail, one can step into luxury at Luca Bruno and experience the world of celebrity designer Dennis Basso’s sueded sheared minks and jackets, shearlings, knitted mink shawls and boleros.

Look for his elegant reversible raincoats, boots, and handbags.

The Fall/Winter 2009/2010 Collection shown during New York Fashion Week will dazzle you. Basso’s collections treat and interpret fur purely as fabric.

Since 1983, Dennis Basso furs have been on the leading edge of fashion and popular with such influential women as Jada Pinkett Smith, Sharon Stone, and J Lo.

In film, you’ve seen his designs on Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada and on Nicole Kidman in Nine. Now they have arrived in Vail and are within reach and ready for you to bundle up and take home.

Bridge Street Jewelers

Telling time has never been so classy.

The special-edition timepieces at Bridge Street Jewelers in Vail Village are distinctive and rare.

Owner David Gross launched his online fine watch and jewelry collections in 2007.

Gross has enjoyed Vail his entire life and opened his Vail shop in July.

To complement the watches he offers a unique selection of jewelry ranging from one quarter-karat studs to six-karat Canary diamonds.

“From contemporary to estate jewelry, we have been providing rare pieces for over three years in private sales,” says Gross.

Whether it’s a Richard Mille RM-11 Singapore or a black ceramic Panerai Pam 292 that has caught your attention, these limited production watches at 286 Bridge Street are waiting to be discovered.

And the pleasure is yours. “There are only 50 of the Richard Mille/ Felipe Massa watches, and we have three of them,” says Gross.

For connoisseurs of auto racing, Massa is a driver for Ferrari…and namesake to one of the fastest watches in the world.
