VAIL, Colorado — Vail Restaurant Month celebrates its final week, LoveFest, Today through Oct. 16.
“We created (Vail Restaurant Month) to celebrate all Vail has to offer in the glorious fall season,” said Vail Restaurant Month co-founder Ilene Rapkin. “And that includes sharing loving experiences and creating memories. Whether indoors or outdoors, couples can share champagne pairings, our exceptional and diverse spa treatments, fireside lounges, parties and receptions and, of course, one-of-a-kind romantic dining events in our restaurants and hotels.”

Spectators jammed Independence Pass on Wednesday to take part in a spectacle that impressed the riders in the USA Pro Cycling Challenge and left bike race fans hoping the inaugural event won't be the last for Colorado.
For the crowd, which local authorities guessed numbered 3,000-plus, Wednesday's grueling “Queen Stage” was the one to see, and Independence Pass, southeast of Aspen, was the place to see it.
“This is the quintessential stage. This is the absolute pinnacle of the race,” said Zak Bristol of Boulder.
“It's a chance to see the best cyclists in the world go as slowly as I do,” said Rob Dollars of Frisco.
BEAVER CREEK, Colorado — Tonight the Beaver Creek Rodeo Series returns for its 10th season. Dust off your cowboy boots and experience the spirit of the Old West at the resort's family friendly hoedown held every Thursday night through Aug. 18. Dates for this year's rodeo series include June 30, July 7, 14 and 21 and Aug. 4, 11 and 18.
The full lineup of classic rodeo events include bronc riding, calf scramble, team roping, mutton bustin', barrel racing, bull riding and burro racing. Gates open at 5 p.m. so bring the whole family out for pre-event activities including pony rides, face painting, mechanical bull rides, western fare and a wide range of barbecue offered by Vail Valley Restaurants.
