Whooops, She did it again

America's next Top Chef?
As the flour dust is settling from Kelly Liken’s great effort in Kitchen Stadium on Iron Chef America, the story breaks, she will compete against 16 other chefs’ on Bravo! Starting in mid-June for the Next Top Chef, Washington D.C.
I thought that her disappearance in mid April and month long seclusion was to insure that she didn’t spill the beans about last Sunday’s outcome. Not for the first time this week, I was wrong. I wish her well in the next competition it certainly seems that she is on her way to nationwide recognition in the foodie world.
We have other well recognized Chef’s in our mix. Chef & Owner of Mirabelle, Daniel Jolie has been traveling the country for years, most recently as the Stella Artois American Chef, if you missed his beer & food pairings at the Taste of Vail you are not alone, I was unable to make the fantastic, dare I say stellar lunch at the Lodge at Vail on Thursday, April 8 but my highly trained sources said it was incredible.
Speaking of the Lodge at Vail, their executive Chef Rahm Fama is rumored to be leaving the Lodge at Vail for a television career of his own, I have yet to see the public announcement but if the rumors are true, his destiny should be revealed this summer. I was not around Rahm enough to really know his food and style, but everything I have tasted has been wonderful.
We are so fortunate to have so many talented individuals in our community. I recently learned about the Avondale and Larkspur Chef’s participating in Outstanding in the Field which is filmed at the Donovan’s Copper Bar Ranch in Edwards. If this is not yet sold out, I may have to find the $ 200.00 to attend!
As we are gearing up for summer I will be updating this blog weekly, with my tips on what to do if you’re in Vail. Please feel fee to send suggestions to me.
