Epicurean Gallery Stroll & Auction to Benefit Bright Future Foundation

Epicurean Gallery Stroll & Auction to Benefit Bright Future Foundation

Popular with locals and visitors alike, The Connoisseur’s Trail is a sumptuous saunter showcasing art and jewelry from some of Vail’s finest galleries complemented by the pairings of world-class wines with tasting-size delicacies from top chefs throughout the Vail Valley.

Participating galleries for this winter’s event include the Claggett/Rey Gallery, Cogswell Gallery, The Golden Bear, J. Cotter Gallery, Karats, Masters Gallery, Pismo Gallery and Squash Blossom.

Restaurants and caters, carefully paired with the galleries and the wines include Avondale, Balata, La Tour, Larkspur, The Lord Gore, Sapphire Restaurant & Oyster Bar, Sonnenalp Resort (Ludwig’s) and Vail Catering Concepts. Wineries represented to date include Silver Oak Winery, Twomey, Rex Hill, and Desert Wind.

A complete list of participating wineries will be published in local newspapers prior to the event.

Highlighting this year’s edition is an auction of an original sculpture created by famed artist Jane DeDecker entitled Fresh Air.  This magnificent work is a life-size sculpture that conjures up memories of childhood.

Fresh Air is currently on display at Claggett/Rey Gallery at 100 E. Meadow Drive in Vail Village (www.claggettreygallery.com <http://www.claggettreygallery.com> ).

The sculpture’s childhood theme is especially appropriate this year, as the Bright Future Foundation is the Connoisseur’s Trail’s non-profit beneficiary.

Bright Future helps victims of domestic violence through a variety of services such as a crisis hot line, safe houses in Eagle County, transitional housing, buddy mentors, and after school programs.

DeDecker is a longtime supporter of women’s children’s causes.

Tickets are $30, which includes five wine tastings and food samplings at the participating galleries. This winters stroll will be held Friday, March 5 from 5:00 to 7:00pm.  Reserve your tickets in advance by calling 970-476-6600.

Tickets will also be available at the Vail-Beaver Creek Magazine tent located by the Covered Bridge in Vail Village the day of the event. For more information, email Heather Trub.
