Surf's Up at Avon's Whitewater Park
Spring is here and Avon's Whitewater Park is open. The Eagle River is currently flowing at approximately 510 CFS and Baby Bob is at the perfect flow range for surfing and play time. So grab your boat and try out Avon's Whitewater Park.
In addition to play time at Avon's Whitewater Park, free kayaking clinics will be offered by Alpine Quest Sports starting in mid-to-late May. Clinics will teach a variety of kayaking skills.
"The Whitewater Park in Avon was designed to run at different water levels for kayakers of all abilities," said Danita Chirichillo, Avon's Special Event Supervisor.
"From Baby Bob to Bob Senior, the Park will help those just starting to learn freestyle skills as well as test the best of the best."
The Whitewater Park was constructed in 2006 and modifications and restoration continued through 2007. With the great snow season this year, the Park promises to offer lots of fun throughout the spring and summer for boater enthusiasts.
