Rick & Kelly's American Bistro to reward its 2000th "Locals Card" Member
As the “Locals Card” dining program soars to 1,500 members, Vail Valley residents are taking advantage of the 15% discount, available anytime at the bistro
(EDWARDS, CO; May 2009) Building on the success of its already established “Locals Card” dining program, which offers Vail Valley residents 15% off their bill, Rick & Kelly’s American Bistro will reward the 2,000th member to sign-up for the program with a Gourmet BBQ Party for up to 10 guests (a service offered by the bistro, valued at approximately $400), personally catered by Chef/Owner Kelly Liken.
The party may take place at the winner’s home or destination of choice within the Vail Valley. What began in March 2009 as a way to thank the bistro’s neighbors and regulars quickly became an unprecedented success: boasting 1,500 members to date, participating residents have collectively 
saved over $22,600 since the program’s inception. The Gourmet BBQ Party will be served buffet style and can accommodate up to 10 diners.
Among the items that may be featured are a choice of St. Louis BBQ Ribs or BBQ Chicken made with a Housemade Spice Rub and braised in Coca-Cola, and selection of two sides, including Homemade Mac and Cheese, White Corn Grits, Potato au Gratin, Sautéed Greens, Chipotle Black Beans, or Corn on the Cob. Following selection of the winner, arrangements will be made with the bistro staff to schedule a mutually available date for the event.
Locals who miss the 2,000th member mark can still enjoy the card’s benefits and the bistro’s catering options, which, in addition to the Gourmet BBQ Party, also include a Build Your Own Burger Party and a Taco Fiesta Party. Prices range from $16 per person to $25 per person, depending on the menu selected, and are exclusive of alcohol, sales tax, and gratuity.
The Build Your Own Burger option offers guests their choice of an all-natural Colorado Beef, Grilled Chicken Breast, or Housemade Veggie Burger with a selection of six toppings, including Haystack Mountain Goat Cheese, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Fried Egg, Roasted Portabellos, and sauces like Mango-Habanero Mustard, Fresh Horseradish Cream, or Red Pepper Romesco.
The Taco Fiesta Party includes a choice of Roast Chicken, Flank Steak, and Grilled Mahi Mahi and a collection of taco-bar fixings, including Sharp Cheddar and Monterey Jack Cheese, Pico de Gallo, Housemade Guacamole, Limes, and Slaw.
For each party, patrons may choose two sides to accompany their buffet, as well as any available add-ons, such as the Fruit Platter ($3 pp); Homemade Dips with Flatbread ($5 pp); Chopped Caesar or Spinach Salad ($5 pp); or a Build Your Own Sundae Bar with six sauces and toppings ($6 pp).
Member discounts are valid anytime during business hours, including happy hours, which occur twice daily from 4:30-6 p.m. and 9-11 p.m., seven days a week.
Locals may sign up for the program at the bistro, where they will receive their member card upon application. Open to all Vail Valley residents, interested parties must show proof of residence in order to be eligible.

The bistro is located in the Riverwalk at 27 Main St. #C 101. It is open for dinner Monday through Sunday 5-11 p.m. and for lunch Monday through Sunday 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. The bar and lounge are open 4:30 p.m.-2 a.m.
